Tim Burton Photoshoot

A few months ago Tim Burton directed a photoshoot for Harper's Bazaar and I find it conversely creepy yet awesome.

What a genius.

Currently Reading

I went book shopping with my friend at Chapters, but the books are pretty expensive, so my friend and I decided to check out the library. Despite the fifteen dollars I had in overdue fees, it was still cheaper than one book.

Currently I am reading Measure of a Man by Sydney Poitier. It's a memoir of his life journey and I have to say, so far it is beautiful. He grew up with no sense of money, no television, no social classes. He is so inspirational and his writing is easy to follow and always interesting.

A very good read.

Beautiful Sartorialist Men

One thought: I must find them.

If you notice, it's the same man in the last two photos. He's wearing the same vest. LOVE.

Karen O and the Hands

Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeah's is always wearing some creative, unique outfit. But how cool is this headdress? The hands with the eyes, the fringe-man, that must be heavy.

I wish I had an excuse to wear a headdress around town.

Pecan Salad Update.

I made my pecan salad tonight and it was SCRUMPTIOUS.

I had mixed greens with craisins, pecans, macintosh apples, crumbled Danish blue cheese and Balsamic vinaigrette.

I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture.

But just imagine it; how good does it sound? Crisp, fresh apple, melt in your mouth blue cheese, crunchy pecans, and a cold Balsamic. (I like my salad dressing cold; you?)

Now multiply that x100 and that's how good it was.
(:

Pecan Salad

Normall when I go out to eat I order some variation of fettucini alfredo. BUT, a few days ago I decided to try a mixed greens salad with pecans, raisins, apples in a oh so delicious vinaigrette, and now I am in love.
I think I will attempt to make this tonight.
Wish me luck!

Party Time!

I now have over ten followers! Yay! Thank you everyone. (:
I'll be celebrating with some oreos & milk.

Turban?

I've been seeing women's headwraps or "turbans" around and they do sound tempting.. I can pull off hats-but turbans? Not so sure.
If I did buy one, it would probably be this one:

Summer Lovin'

Today was the first day of 2010 that I went outside without a sweater! Yaaaayy! Now I cannot help but plan my summer months and fill them with the following:

Sparklers...so I can write my name in the air over and over

I'm reinstalling my tire swing; hopefully the rope won't snap(:

Sandcastles..something along these lines will do.

Cool beach towels, even though they get all sandy anyways.

Fun ice cubes like these "Titonic" ones. (brilliant)

Eating everything with tomatoes from my garden.

Driftwood Art

I love walking on the beach and finding driftwood; it's so beautiful and rustic. This great idea of turning driftwood into a photo holder is fantastic.
wouldn't that add the perfect touch to your side table? Love.

It's Wednesday!

Halfway through the week! Hang in there.

Dots Print

I've been seeing a lot of these colour-blindness tests around. If you are colour blind you won't see the numbers; my friend actually didn't realize he was colour-blind until he saw this and said, "what number?"

How cute would this be as a large print?
I think it would look lovely above a bed or mantle.

Charming Kitchens

I never knew plates could be so enticing... but then again, they are from anthropologie . .

Squeezing fresh lemons to drizzle over your salad.. a juicer has never seemed so romantic.

This glass reminds me of Alice in Wonderland

These plates remind me of eating antipasto and sundried tomoatoes in Tuscany

Can you tell I'm hungry?

Romantic

I've been in love with anthropologie (along with everyone else) for a while but I never looked at their home decor. But let me tell you, once I did, I saw a bright white light.
Everything is so romantic. love.

I love this frilly shower curtain

This duvet reminds me of Marie Antoinette

I would soooo start drawing with these.. of course it would be "abstract"

This Summer . . .

I'm so excited this summer I will be going to the gorgeous Maritimes of Canada.
I will be flying out to Nova Scotia to visit my family then hopefully going out to New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador for some priceless alone time.

I can already smell the ocean air, and I cannot wait to stay in a tiny cozy bed&breakfast, ride my bike through town and eat the best lobster every night.

Happy Pi Day

Today is Pi Day..  March 14th. I love creative ingenious nerdy people. In my chemistry class we celebrated international mole day- we brought in a cake with a mole on it!
I wish I had pictures..

But this apple pi looks delicious(:

Quotes

“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all.” -Emily Dickinson

"I must learn to love the fool in me--the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries. It alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled, masterful tyrant whom I also harbor and who would rob me of human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for my fool." -- Theodore I. Rubin, MD

"Do that which keeps you up at night. Do that for a living."  -Bill Cosby

"When he shall die, cut him out into little stars,... all the world will be in love with night, and pay no worship to the garish sun." -Romeo and Juliet

"One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries." -A. A. Milne (I agree, like my missing socks)

"You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."   -Christopher Robin
